A Philosophy of Substance

Exceptional eyewear begins with exceptional materials. Our philosophy is built on three pillars that guide every choice we make, from our supply chain to our final product.

1. Uncompromising Quality

We source and develop materials that are not only sustainable but also offer superior durability, performance, and aesthetic beauty. Every component is rigorously tested to ensure it meets our exacting standards for a lifetime of wear.

2. Radical Transparency

We believe in a fully traceable supply chain. We partner exclusively with certified suppliers who share our commitment to ethical sourcing and fair labor, providing complete clarity on the origin and impact of our materials.

3. Constant Innovation

Our work is never done. We are constantly researching and developing next-generation bio-based alternatives and circular economy models to further minimize our footprint and redefine what's possible in sustainable luxury.

Anatomy of a Frame

Recycled Ocean Plastic

Our commitment to marine conservation is molded directly into our frames. We partner with ocean cleanup initiatives to recover harmful plastics, which are then processed into high-performance pellets. This durable, ultra-light material maintains the strength and flexibility required for premium eyewear while actively cleaning our seas.

Bio-Based Acetate

Crafted from renewable resources like cotton and wood pulp, our bio-acetate offers the same luxurious feel, rich color depth, and premium finish as traditional acetate, but without the petroleum. It's a plant-based, biodegradable alternative that sets a new standard for sustainable luxury.

72% Renewable Content Durability: Exceptional Weight: Lightweight

Recycled Titanium

Our metal frames utilize aerospace-grade titanium reclaimed from industrial sources. This process reduces the energy-intensive mining process by up to 95%. The result is a feather-light, hypoallergenic, and exceptionally strong frame built for a lifetime of performance and comfort.

Lens Technology

Advanced optics for superior visual experience

Lens technology

Our lenses are crafted from optical-grade polycarbonate, a material chosen for its exceptional impact resistance, optical clarity, and lightweight properties. Each lens undergoes a multi-stage manufacturing process to ensure perfection:

1. Precision Molding

Lenses are injection-molded to exact specifications using renewable energy-powered machinery.

2. UV Protection

Advanced UV400 coating blocks 100% of harmful UVA/UVB rays, protecting your eyes from long-term damage.

3. Polarization

Our polarized lenses eliminate glare from reflective surfaces, enhancing visual comfort and clarity.

4. Hydrophobic Coating

A water-repellent top layer prevents smudging, fingerprints, and water spots for easier maintenance.

We offer multiple lens options to suit different needs: standard UV protection, polarized, gradient tints, and mirror coatings. All lenses meet or exceed international safety standards for optical quality and impact resistance.

Pushing Material Boundaries

Our R&D team continuously explores cutting-edge sustainable materials to incorporate into future collections. Current innovations in development include:

Algae-Based Bioplastics

Derived from renewable algae biomass, this material captures carbon during growth and offers comparable performance to traditional plastics.

Mycelium Composites

Using mushroom roots (mycelium) grown on agricultural waste, we're developing lightweight, biodegradable frame alternatives.

Plant-Based Nylon

Created from castor bean oil, this high-performance material replaces petroleum-based nylons in our hinge components.

Recycled Fishing Nets

Partnering with coastal communities, we're transforming discarded fishing nets into durable frame materials.

These innovations represent our commitment to a circular economy where materials are perpetually cycled back into production. We collaborate with material scientists, environmental organizations, and ethical suppliers to bring these concepts to market without greenwashing.

Material innovation

Certifications & Transparency

Verified standards for ethical and sustainable practices

Global Recycled Standard (GRS)

Verifies recycled content and tracks chain of custody from source to final product.

Fair Trade Certified

Ensures fair wages, safe working conditions, and community development for workers.

Cradle to Cradle Certified™

Assesses products across five categories: material health, recyclability, renewable energy, water stewardship, and social fairness.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

Tests for harmful substances in textiles and materials, ensuring human ecological safety.

We believe in radical transparency. Every Blink Shades product includes a QR code that provides detailed information about its materials, manufacturing location, carbon footprint, and social impact. We publish annual sustainability reports with third-party verification to hold ourselves accountable.

The Art of Preservation

Simple rituals to ensure your Blink Shades maintain their beauty and integrity for years to come.

01

Gentle Cleaning

For daily care, use the provided microfiber cloth. For a deeper clean, rinse with lukewarm water and a single drop of mild, lotion-free soap. Avoid alcohol-based solvents, which can damage lens coatings and natural materials.

02

Mindful Storage

Your protective case is the ideal home for your eyewear. Always store them inside when not in use. Avoid extreme heat, such as a car dashboard, as high temperatures can cause bio-acetate frames to lose their shape.

03

Professional Adjustments

Use both hands when putting on or removing your frames to maintain their precise alignment. If they require adjustment for a perfect fit, please consult a professional optician rather than attempting to bend them yourself.

04

Closing the Loop

When your frames reach the end of their long life, don't discard them. Participate in our take-back program to ensure the materials are properly recycled, completing our commitment to a circular economy.

Your Blink Shades are protected by a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
